Newsletter / Events
As the vineyard leaves turn into beautiful colours of reds and orange the cellars and towns in the Breede River Valley invite all visitors to support the local events. At Reed's Country Lodge we help to promote the local towns and cellars. We will be updating our newsletter and website with most of the events happening close to the lodge, so keep your eyes on the website to ensure that you do not miss an event or click here to subscribe to our monthly newsletter.

- The 30km route includes rocky single and jeep tracks over typical Karoo hills until it reaches a secondary gravel road, after which the route turns back joining the 10km route.

• 5 September 2009 - KWAGGASKLOOF 4X4 DAY (date to be confirmed)
Brandvlei Cellar - Worcester
The 4x4's, dust, hills, friends and family are what have been making this event a main event for the past 6 years among the Breedevalley farmers. Last year 150 entry forms were too few, 200 vehicles entered the main entry point. Men from all over the province made their appearance.
This year the "Kwaggaskloof Boerevereniging" is going to make sure that this one is even better than last year's.
The ABSA Cape Epic:
Feedback on the Cape Epic that recently passed through the Breede Valley:
The Cape Epic route was changed this year to guarantee that spectators and media from more that 40 countries visited the Overberg. The first day the riders cycled from Gordon's Bay to Villiersdorp, where the riders stayed over for two nights. A Total of 1200 riders started this hectic route that is speculated to be one of the best in the world.
All the guesthouses in Villiersdorp were fully booked and accommodation was also offered at private homes. Villiersdorp tourism also used Klipbokkop and Reed's Country Lodge to ensure that all the riders had a comfortable bed to rest their tired bodies.
It was an honour to host the Cape Epic and we hope to see them next year.
